The reality is, we are all busy people with busy lives. We have a lot of responsibilities and things to do such as work, families, commuting, house work and everything else in between. That is before we even think about having a social life and taking time to relax.
It can feel quite overwhelming and frustrating that you then need to find some time for exercise right?
Well that’s where SOS Fitness comes in. At SOS Fitness we help busy people achieve the results they want, feel better, and live a better quality of life.
In today’s blog I am going to share some very simple tips to help you have more time efficient workouts that will help you change your body shape, get fitter, healthier, and feel better.
1) HAVE A PLAN:
Something so simple but yet is so often overlooked when it comes to pretty much any goal. Having a plan is so valuable when it comes to working towards something, especially when it comes to exercise.
How often do you go for a workout and find yourself spending time trying to work out what you are going to do?
This can waste a fair bit of time, leading to you feeling frustrated and ‘unmotivated’ to exercise.
Having a clear plan or routine to follow will help you have more clarity and structure that will not only just save you time, but help you stay more focused and motivated. The good thing is it doesn’t need to be complicated. Keep it simple, allow for some flexibility, and see how much more time efficient your workouts are.
2) BOOK OUT TIME IN YOUR DIARY:
Label it “me time”. Simply just booking out time in your day or schedule to exercise. So many of you do this with your work and other areas of life, but not with exercise. Which ironically, will help you in those other areas.
A bit like the previous tip, having a clear idea of when you are going to exercise will help you be more organised and time efficient. This will help you stay more focused and motivated.
3) PAIR EXERCISES UP OR PERFORM A CIRCUIT:
One simple way you can save more time whilst working out is pairing exercises up (also known as ‘super sets’) or performing a circuit.
Depending on the layout and how busy your gym is, you can pair exercises up back to back. This can be done by pairing an upper body exercise with a lower body one or pairing up opposing muscle groups. A quick tip is to avoid pairing up similar exercises and muscle groups as this will add a lot of fatigue and may cause the technique of the exercise to suffer.
If you need any more help or advice, please feel free to drop me a message and I will be more than happy to help.
Thanks, Shane.
